about

In a loose sequence we’d like to introduce the solo and collaborative works of TaboTago's Andreas von Garnier, alias SYNTHASIS.

Andreas was born in East Berlin and was musically influenced particularly by the electronic and avant-garde music of the 70s. Driven by his deep knowledge of electronic sound generation, Andreas began building his own electronic musical instruments in the 1980s.

---

This is a recording of a concert on the occasion of an exhibition by the now deceased multimedia artist Artus Unival. Also featured on the album is Leander Reininghaus, already known as the acclaimed guitarist of TaboTago.

The concept of this live performance was to improvise musically, inspired by the exhibited artworks, the space and the people present.
The sound of the electric guitar and violin was strongly processed by electronic sound effects and is very reminiscent of the early experimental phase of the so-called Berlin School. Fans of sequencer-driven synthesizers, extensive guitar soloing and Mellotron-laden soundscapes sure will also be in for a treat!
